Natalie Patterson is a 23-year-old university graduate living in Australia. She has just broken up with Amir, her boyfriend of four years. Amir is an obsessive, controlling bully who is making Natalie’s life a living hell, and she longs to get as far away from him as possible. He is one of the reasons she is looking for employment in the United States J. Pelham Campbell is a partner at the marketing firm of Mason, Campbell, Alvarado, & Jürgen, LLP, the company where Natalie hopes to land an internship. He is traveling to Australia for a month on business and has been tasked with assessing Natalie as an intern candidate for the firm.
